COVID-19 Statement: how we can help you

UPDATE - 26 MARCH 2020

In light of the government’s recent announcements, we at Knill James are taking every precaution to protect our team, our clients and visitors.

We are regularly monitoring the official guidance and have cancelled all face-to-face meetings. All our teams are now working from home, except for a skeleton staff in our Lewes office providing essential services. Clients should no longer come to the office other than to drop off or pick up records by prior arrangement.

We are taking all necessary steps to ensure continuity of service to our clients. We are proactively looking at how we collaborate with our clients and within the team, and to this end we are urging those clients not already signed up to our secure portal to do so. This portal service is easy to use and will allow you to approve documents such as your tax return at the click of a button. We would urge you to use this service, so please email and we can then sign you up. For further information, please visit our Cloud Accounting page here:

We anticipate that some of our clients will experience cash flow issues as we work through the inevitable consequences of social distancing. We would strongly recommend that they take steps to keep their business affairs current, as up-to-date accounts will almost certainly be a prerequisite to obtaining finance. Both our Business Hub and our Corporate Finance team are well placed to assist.

As any new guidelines are released, we will update our procedures and information and keep you informed on the website and via social media.

Thank you for your co-operation over the coming weeks and if you have any concerns, please call us on 01273 480480. We are here to help.
