Knill James hosts an Essentials for Charities & Schools Seminar

We’ve had a great week hosting our Essentials for Charities & Schools seminar. With specialist talks from our very own Senior VAT consultant, Alison Sampson and guest speakers Martin Williams (Partner, Mayo Wynne Baxter) and Matthew Cornish (Fundraising & Development Manager, Bevern Trust)

Alison guided us through the world of VAT and the complexities surrounding the benefits and pitfalls for charities and education settings. Martin talked to us about the legalities of the definition of employees, workers, self –employed and volunteers. With a focus around hiring volunteers within the charity sector. And we finished with Matthew, who told us how he developed the Bevern Trust’s messaging to raise a challenging fundraising target, as well providing valuable insight into how he achieved this.

At Knill James we’re proud to host these key events for our clients and stakeholders to inform and inspire delegates. It also provides an opportunity to engage and network within the local business community.
