VAT registration delays

HMRC has apologised for the ongoing delays in processing VAT registrations. Due to the high volume of applications, it can take several months for an application to be processed and currently there is a four month backlog.

To ensure that your VAT registration application is dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible, do use HMRC's on-line VAT registration service and check that it is completed correctly and as fully as possible.
